The other day I was walking to catch the T to work and saw this notice taped to the old police station:

VIOLATION DESCRIPTION:

Failure to comply with Vacant or Abandoned Building Ordinance (194-09), which requires the following action:
The submittal of completed Application for Registration of Vacant or Abandoned Buildings and payment of initial registration fee in the amount of $765.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

Submit completed Application for Registration of Vacant or Abandoned Buildings with initial registration fee in the amount of $765.00 plus nine (9) time penalty. Abatement procedures will begin within 30 days if registration fee plus penalties are not received.

$7650.00!
