Baja Dogpatch

The Potrero Hill / Dogpatch Green Benefits District just sent out a link to a survey that you should probably go fill out so they can figure out how to add more green to our grit*.

Go take the survey, you can always come back to the Howler later:

Okay, when you were taking that survey, did you notice the kind of amazing map of micro-mini-neighborhoods?

I’m looking at you, “Baja Dogpatch,” pick a name. A divided house cannot stand.

* “gritty Dogpatch” is a thing. Please consider a new adjective.

That map is straight up retarded.

First of all (and this is not just this particular map,) why doesn’t it have Dogpatch extend the ONE MORE BLOCK to the far more obvious boundary of Islais Creek? I don’t think I live in a neighborhood I have to cross a fucking bridge to get to any of.

Second, if I ever hear someone say “Baja Dogpatch” with a straight face I will know I am speaking with a Realtor and try to get away from it as fast as possible.

  3. Ouch on Baja Dogpatch – tongue in cheek phrase for those south of 23rd Street. Please bear in mind these are phrases used affectionately by those living and working in the area.
