The SFPD says:
Armed Robbery Attempt:
On January 23rd at 8:10 pm, officers responded to the area of 22nd and Minnesota on a call of an armed robbery. They located the 38 year old victim who told them that she was walking while dialing a number on her cell phone when a suspect approached her and demanded she give up the phone. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim as he grabbed the phone in her hand. The victim refused to let go of the phone and tussled with the suspect during which time he hit her several times with the handgun. A bystander who had been across the street and watching the altercation came to the victim’s defense. When the witness approached and yelled at the suspect to leave the victim alone, the suspect turned on him and threatened to shoot him. The suspect then ran off on foot north on Minnesota. The officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him that night. This incident is under investigation. (SFPD Case No. 130065201)
This is all over Nextdoor Dogpatch, too, which is semi-private (but also pretty cool), so I am not sure about the rules for publishing content from it.
Let’s hope that this is not the beginning of our very own wave of muggings:

Add these SFPD contact numbers to your phone:

SFPD Non-Emergency 553-0123
Remember: Dialing 911 from a cellphone connects you with the California Highway Patrol, not the SFPD

Don’t re-publish things from a semi-private social network. It’s annoying.
Thanks for… That?
